Organizational culture has been recognized by researchers and professionals as an antidote to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) failure globally. However, the role of organizational culture on SMEs performance has not been widely exploited in Nigeria. The study, therefore, examines the effect of organizational culture on the performance of small and medium enterprises in the manufacturing sub-sector. The study makes use of survey research in order to assess thoughts, opinions, and feelings of participants through structured close-ended questionnaire. The study was carried out among the SME manufacturing sub-sectors registered with Manufacturers' Association of Nigeria (MAN) in Oyo State. The study employed purposive and simple random sampling techniques to select a total number of three hundred and eighty one (381) participants as a sample size for the study from a total population of seven thousand eight hundred and twenty one (7,821) SMES as recorded by SMEDAN (2013). Data analysis was performed with the aid of descriptive statistical tools such as Frequencies, Percentages, Mean Score and Standard deviation. The study provides an empirical evidence of the positive effect of organizational culture on business performance in SMEs manufacturing sub-sector. Findings of the study serve as input to greatly enhance the ability of SMEs operators, policy makers and employees to understand the importance of organizational culture as a driver for improved performance of an organization.

Goal setting enriches and enhances shareholder value, increase market share and inspired innovativeness. This study examines the significance of goals setting on organizational performance. The researcher adopts Survey research design and utilizes simple random sampling technique to administer self-structured questionnaire to the selected respondents of one hundred and forty-four from the total population of two hundred and thirty (230). The researcher uses Simple percentage method with a frequency distribution table and Pearson's Product Moment Correlation Coefficient (PPMC) analysis technique to analyze the hypotheses, with the use of SPSS version 21.0 in the processing of primary data gathered via the self- administered structured questionnaire. The finding of the reveals that significant positive relationship exists between goal setting, employees' commitment and self-efficacy at (0.881 that fall within the region of +1). Further finding shows that employees' satisfaction is greatly and directly influenced by goal setting at (0.972 that fall within the region of +1). The study concludes that goal setting is a panacea for enhancing organizational performance, employees' commitment and self-efficacy in the manufacturing industry in Nigeria.

Entrepreneurship in today's world has become a major concept of discussion in developing countries. In the present era, women are recognized as successful entrepreneurs through their strong desire, qualities, and capabilities for robust economic development. Hence, the main objective of this study is to examine the relationship between Women Entrepreneurship and SMES Performance. The underpinning theory of this study is Innovation Theory by Joseph Schumpeter, propounded the well-known innovative theory of entrepreneurship. In this study, the research design is a quantitative approach, which was adopted by collecting a primary data using questionnaire. The questionnaire was designed based on a five point likert style, which gives the respondents to choose the desired feelings they have on the questions asked on the questionnaire. The women entrepreneurs where drawn from all the local governments in Yobe State. Although there are no record of total women entrepreneurs in the state, this study was able to draw a sample of them through the records in the women organizations and ministry. The unit of analysis in this study is individual unit of analysis. The hypothesis of this study is tested using the regression analysis. The result of this study shows that Women Entrepreneurship was found to be significantly related to SMES Performance. Therefore, the hypothesis women entrepreneurship has influence on women small business performance in Yobe State is accepted. The findings of this study will help government agencies and others business organization in formulating policies that will encourage and promote entrepreneurship activities among women. It has also contributed to theory and method in the entrepreneurship research.

To promote self-employment, efforts are being made by the Nigerian Universities to infuse entrepreneurial interests in the students before their graduation but funding has been a major challenge. Therefore, this study investigated the awareness and the effect of crowdfunding on entrepreneurial intentions among the final year students in Mountain Top University, Ogun State, Nigeria. Copies of a structured questionnaire were administered on a sample of the final year students in the University. Paired sample T-test and simple linear regression analysis were explored to test the hypotheses of the study. Findings revealed that there is significant difference in crowdfunding awareness among the final year management science students in the College of Humanity, Management and Social Sciences than their pure and applied science counterparts in the College of Basic and Applied Sciences (Mean Difference = 0.15789, SD = 0.06522, t = 2.421, Sig. = 0.019). Further findings revealed that there is no significant difference between entrepreneurial intentions among the final year management science students and the final year pure and applied science students (Mean Difference = 0.10526, SD = 1.66566, t = 0.477, Sig. = 0.635). A significant positive effect was also observed between the possibility of using = crowdfunding and entrepreneurial intentions among all the final year students (p=0.648, t-value=9.001, Sig. =0.000). Consequently, the study recommended the introduction of special elective in Accounting and Finance for CBAS students and the collaboration between the academia and the multilateral organizations to provide appropriate measures and tools for the deployment of this new form of finance.

This study examines strategic mechanism to curb youth's restiveness in Nigeria via engaging youths with entrepreneurial activities. The study adopts Descriptive Survey Research Method using questionnaire to gather information on the subject matter, while mean and weighted Mean was used to analyze the formulated research questions. Decision rule of 2.5 mean was set as the cutoff point. The result of the findings shows that items in research questions one, two and three show a Weighted Mean of 3.15, 2.19 and 3.62 respectively. The results therefore indicate that high level of unemployment and poverty are among other factors leads to youth's restiveness. It was also revealed that injustice, favourism, inequality which are products of bad government ignites youth's restiveness. The paper therefore proffers some recommendations that if employed by government, the general public and the concerns youths, restiveness among Nigeria youth shall be reduced to the bearable level.

Language is a common tool for communication; it plays vital role in helping people build a bridge of relationship. On the one hand, it is an essential factor for all traders and their customers. On the other hand, language communication is fundamental to the existence and survival of individuals, groups, societies, and nations. This paper investigates language barriers to business communication in Mowe town of Ogun State, Nigeria. The paper is based on the research carried out in selected businesses within Mowe town of Ogun State. The study is hinged on John Searle (1975)'s The Speech Acts Theory. The study used purposeful sampling method where 80 respondents were sampled within the central business district of Mowe town. The study is qualitative and is aimed at exploring the factors that cause language barriers and their impacts on effective communication in Entrepreneurship. Methods of data collection used include questionnaire, participant's observation and interview. The study observed that many customers in the town use their mother tongues in communicating with traders who do not speak their mother tongues thereby leading to breakdown in communication. The study concluded that language barriers arise from meanings and uses of words, symbols, images, gestures, languages and dialects that are wrongly used.

The use of committee is imperative because it enhances adequate participation in decision making, pooling of knowledge and the integration of opinions of diverse views on administrative matters in universities. A comprehensive review of literature revealed that most of the studies on committee system were examined via the use of survey, indicating dearth of research through the use of interview. It is against this background that the current study investigates the impact of committee system on administrative effectiveness in Al-Hikmah University using qualitative approach. Two three research questions were generated to guide the study. Qualitative research design was adopted for the study. Purposive and convenience techniques were used to select five lecturers. An interview protocol titled "Interview Protocol on Committee System and Administrative Effectiveness (IPCA)" was used to elicit relevant information. Data collected were analyzed using thematic approach. Findings indicate that various committee such as research committee, time-table committee, student disciplinary committee and staff disciplinary committee were put in place for the smooth running of activities in the university. Also, findings revealed that committee system had impact on administrative effectiveness of the university. Based on the findings of the study, it was recommended that the reports of the committee should be implemented and adequate time be given to committee to complete their assignments.

Numerous studies in literature have evaluated airline industry performance from the traditional performance theory, yet, fewer studies have considered the role of digital era to optimize organizational performance as well as the mitigating shocks for sustainable organizational performance. In view of the importance of digitalization, this study empirically appraises the airline industry performance before and during COVID-19 using the balanced scorecard performance model in the selected study sample, Emirate Airline between 2015 and 2020. Importantly, multiple pearson product moment correlation (MPPMC) and descriptive statistics methods were used to estimate the relationship and changes in the airline performance over the study periods. The results showed that digitalization era before COVID-19 promotes higher associations between financial performance and other balanced scorecards performance than the digitalization era during COVID-19 in Emirate Airline within the study periods. Further, the result showed that all the four areas of balanced scorecards except learning and growth showed negative impact between, before and during COVID-19 periods in Emirate Airline. From the findings, the study recommends the need for Emirate airline management to further intensify on the IT asset investment, that is, digitalization of the internal business process because the digitalization practices during COVID- 19 was not effective to mitigate neither the adverse financial performance nor the adverse non- financial performance and also to have competitive advantage in the airline industry.

This paper aims to evaluate the impact of the entrepreneurial initiative, titled 'Every Student a Musician' ESM, on the students of Mountain Top University. In addition, the study seeks to examine the strategies for sustainable development of skills on ESM students' performances and the continuity of their impacts on the University and society. The paper hinges on innovation theory of entrepreneurship by J.A. Schumpeter. The methodological approach to collection of data includes: primary sources, which include annual reports and activities of ESM from inception till date. Findings demonstrate that exploring music entrepreneurship in ESM training encompasses both musical and extra musical functions that are interrelated with other disciplines beyond class instructions, as additional sources of income to students. A follow-up model for sustainable development in music entrepreneurship was developed as resource material for scholarly consultations. The paper concludes that students of ESM in Mountain Top University have the opportunity to accrue additional income, not only from music performances but from production of music accessories and related services that interpolate with their core courses. The paper recommends that other tertiary institutions should device musical innovations that would connect other disciplines to provide additional sources of income to students.

This article examines the role media plays in the provision of information on HIV and AIDS among the brothel sex workers in Lagos State. The extent of the awareness of sources of information on HIV and AIDS among commercial sex workers deserves to be investigated, as information if available but not known cannot be said to have fulfilled its raison d'etre. Data analysis was done using descriptive statistics such as percentage distribution. The result showed a significant relationship between information awareness and sexual risk behaviours of CSWs (r= -0.20, p<0.05). The findings of the study revealed the importance of CSWs' linguistic code and cultural values as intrinsic aspects of intervention programs. In addition, the study concluded that even though CSWS were aware of relevant information they paid minimal attention to the importance of information on their sexual practices and thereby recommended the need to repackage information using captivating methods such as visualization, posters, handbills, billboards and drama to address the menace of HIV and AIDS among CSWs.
